A True Pro Professional tool.

Today's product comes from an honorable mention site outside of Skymall. With any luck, Skymall will soon feature this product as well.

Originally this item came to my attention as part of a list compiled by popular mechanics, some of which will undoubted find their way onto this blog.

This item, from its product description, is:

[the] "Waring Pro Professional Cordless Wine Opener" [sic]

An elegant solution in brushed steel, which accents your fabulous modern counter-top, it puts all those corded wine openers and corkscrews to shame. This item manages to open wine bottles without any wires! WOO!

I am concerned, however, about what kind of person would find himself seeking out a career as a "Pro professional" in the field of wine opening? Is that something one can pick up first as a hobby? Or is that something one would has to be groomed for? Is the market and salary competitive? Is there a pension plan? A union? Maybe even a certification exam? I hope it's the kind of career that would make one a role model for the community, and one that our children can aspire to.
